TIPS TO STAY CALM IN 2020

Surviving CoronaVirus 2020 Insomnia

by Bonnie Carroll

I have recieved so many emails from friends & associates regarding what I'm calling the "Sleepless in Seattle" CoronaVirus Quarantine Syndrome that is affecting so many and I put together a short story on tips to combat the insomnia and other reactions to quarantine that also became a video on YouTube.

Getting enough sleep is imperative to deal with the stress we are all going through during this CoronaVirus Pendemic. I recommend taking control of  your daily life to implement deliberate techniques to keep you calm, sleeping well and experiencing as much comfort emotionally, mentally and physically as possible is a must.

Exercising daily is imperative. Riding a stationery bike in your apartment or walking around the block daily is necessary to help you sleep, as well as keep your body strong.

Meditation daily can bring you special comforts and assist with low blood pressure. A variety of tapes are avilable online as well as actual classes to partisipate in online. Libraries also have tapes available. Daily websites for meditation help.

Stretching every morning before getting out of bed is very beneficial to anyone with arthritis or in senior  years. Yoga or dance tapes can be very help in keeping in shape as well as feeling happier. Get those old yoga or Jane Fonda tapes out and do what you can to enjoy the focus and dance exercises.

Aromatherapy is a tool I've used for years to keep things cool in my bedroom and throughout my home. Lavender is an oil essence that promotes relaxation and smells great. I also use citrus based oils to energize me in the morning. Small infusers can be purchased at CVS or Whole Foods Market, along with oils.

Eating healthy - crisis can create a crazy mind set that draws you toward all the food and beverages that will bring you down. Stay with your healthy fruits, vegetable and protiens to maintain balance and encourage easy digestion. I am a Keto diet person and have had to work at maintaining during the quarantine, but am staying with it and feel lighter and more relaxed.

Control those Electronics - Good idea to turn off computers, phones and televisions at least one hour before you retire to go to sleep. They are stimulating to the brain and can interfere with going into a deep sleep.

Please enjoy the video below discussing some tips that may help you stay calm and cool during the CoronaVirus Quartine. Stay safe and be well, wear the mask.
