ROTARY HONORS LOCAL VETERANS

Beverly Hills Rotary honors Glenn Ford, and area veterans with a special display honoring the men and women from the Beverly Hills community who have served our Country. The exhibit will be on permanent display in the City of Beverly Hills Library, and will include a series of veteran’s stories, letters, uniforms, medals, and photos in the case seen in the attached photo. The newly created Beverly Hills Rotary sponsored Veterans Committee is lead by Rotarian Martin Geimer with the assistance of David Snowden, Beverly Hills Police Chief.  “This will be the first of many exhibits on display at the library.  “We have encouraged our members to assist in locating other local veterans to honor,” said Martin Geimer.

Paul McCartney Marries in London!

Former Beatle frontman Paul McCartney, 69, wed Nancy Shevell, 51, on Sunday in an intimate civil marriage ceremony in London. Only 30 guests were invited to the ceremony. The two were all smiles as they left the event and were congratulated by excited fans.

The American heiress bride wore a beautiful above-the-knee white wedding gown crafted by none other than McCartney's designer daughter, Stella. Her long brown hair was styled with a white flower. Sir Paul donned a dapper navy blue suit with a light blue tie for the occasion.

According to USA Today, after the ceremony, the newlyweds drove off in a burgundy Lexus for a small, lavish reception at their London home in the St. John's Wood neighborhood. During the private party, the groom sang a sweet song to his new wife

"THE WAY' Starring Martin Sheen and Directed by Emilio Estevez

"The Way" is a powerful and inspirational story about family, friends, and the challenges we face while navigating this ever-changing and complicated world. Martin Sheen plays Tom, an American doctor who comes to St. Jean Pied de Port, France to collect the remains of his adult son (played by Emilio Estevez), killed in the Pyrenees in a storm while walking the Camino de Santiago, also known as The Way of Saint James. Rather than return home, Tom decides to embark on the historical pilgrimage to honor his son's desire to finish the journey. What Tom doesn't plan on is the profound impact the journey will have on him and his "California Bubble Life.”

Inexperienced as a trekker, Tom soon discovers that he will not be alone on this journey. On "The Way," Tom meets other pilgrims from around the world, each with their own issues and looking for greater meaning in their lives: a Dutchman (Yorick van Wageningen), a Canadian (Deborah Kara Unger) and an Irish writer (James Nesbitt), who is suffering from a bout of writer's block.

From the unexpected and, oftentimes, amusing experiences along "The Way," this unlikely quartet of misfits creates an everlasting bond and Tom begins to learn what it means to be a citizen of the world again. Through Tom's unresolved relationship with his son, he discovers the difference between "the life we live and the life we choose."

THE WAY, written and directed by Emilio Estevez, was filmed entirely in Spain and France along the actual Camino de Santiago. In a theatre near you now.
